I had to send you some encouragement, Pastor’s Wife.
Sis, can you believe all that’s going on these days? As I’m typing this, yet another urgent update from our state’s governor is interrupting regular programming. Tension is in the air. It’s thick. It’s real. And honestly? It’s exhausting.
Let’s not pretend—no one is immune from this kind of pressure. Not you. Not me. Whether it’s the rising fear, the endless news, or the grim statistics, it’s rough. That’s why I thought of you today. I prayed for you. I lifted up every Pastor’s Wife who would read these words.
Yes, we’re living through a dark time in history—but here’s our truth: God is still on the throne.
As I encourage you, I’m also encouraging myself. Because if we’re honest…
Our Husbands Are in Deep Waters
My husband is struggling under the weight of it all. He doesn’t say much—but I see it. I feel it. I bet you do too. It brings tears to my eyes. Watching him try to lead God’s people while wrestling with uncertainty breaks my heart.
Your husband might be doing the same. If so, leave a comment. Let me know I’m not alone.
What They Need From Us Now
Whether we’re actively involved in every ministry or just quietly supporting from the sidelines—our presence matters.
My husband tries to shield me from the pressure. But I see it anyway. So I’ve taken on the role of quiet strength—like Moses’ wife. Supporting from behind the scenes, finding my place, doing what I can do.
Your role may look different, and that’s okay. But one thing’s the same for all of us: our presence and prayers matter more than ever.

You Married a Man of Purpose
When your world feels upside down, remember this: you married a man with a call on his life.
And your life is intertwined with that call. That doesn’t mean you lose yourself—but it does mean you’re part of something eternal.
The load may be heavy, but you’re not carrying it alone. God sees you too.
Takeaway #1: You Are Not Forgotten
You’re not invisible. You’re not an afterthought.
God sees your late-night prayers, your silent tears, your creative efforts to make ministry work from your kitchen. He sees you holding cameras, navigating livestreams, responding to texts, caring for your kids, and lifting your husband’s arms like Aaron and Hur did for Moses (Exodus 17:12 – read here).
You are doing better than you think.
Takeaway #2: Guard Your Atmosphere Fiercely
During hard times, your environment can either lift you or crush you. I have a prayer room—just a little guest bedroom where I can go and cry, worship, or just sit in silence before God.
It’s my safe space. My panic room. And I run there often.
You don’t need a fancy setup. Just a space where you can meet with God. It will nourish your spirit.
Control your atmosphere by playing worship music, reading scripture—even when it feels dry. The atmosphere of your home can influence the spirit of your whole household.
Abide in me, and I in you… (John 15:4 – read here)
Takeaway #3: Nourish Yourself—Even When You Don’t Feel It
You may feel numb right now. That’s normal.
There were days I opened my Bible and the words just sat there. No inspiration. No emotion. Just ink on a page. But I kept reading. I kept praying.
Just like you don’t always feel the nutrients working in a good meal, the Word still strengthens you—even when it doesn’t feel like it.
He gives power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increases strength. (Isaiah 40:29 – read here)
A Challenge for You
Starting today, commit to two things:
- A daily moment with God that’s just for you. Even if it’s five minutes behind a locked door.
- Create a peace-filled atmosphere. Keep it spiritually nourishing for everyone under your roof.
Don’t underestimate the impact of these small habits. They keep you strong.
Encouraging Words for Pastors Wife (Repeat After Me)
- I’m doing the best I can—and that’s enough.
- I am a help, not a hindrance.
- God sees me, hears me, and strengthens me.
- I am not alone in this calling.
Journaling Prompts
- What does my husband need from me this week that only I can give?
- Where can I carve out quiet time just for God and me?
- What truth do I need to remind myself of when I feel unseen or unappreciated?
Pastor’s Wife… You’re Still Standing
You haven’t given up. You haven’t walked away. And for that alone, you get points.
You’re still cooking, praying, texting members, hugging kids, encouraging your husband, and holding your heart together.
You are a strong woman of God. This trial won’t destroy you—it’s refining you.
Your testimony is loading.
Hang in there, Sister. And if no one else tells you this today: You’re doing great.
Let me know how I can pray for you.

Yes, this have been a changing experience for my husband. He’s had to adapt to a different way of delivering his sermon on the internet realizing it’s not just his members he ministering to but, others as well. Most of our congregation have underlying health problems, so worshipping inside the church building is not an option until it’s safe. This itself brings extra stress on my husband because where we were home visiting a few due to being shut-in, now requires more home visits, which puts us at risk. I see the stress on my husband and yes it does affect me as well, because I worry about the other problems people may be dealing with in their homes such as mental depression and or domestic violence from people being shut in, which involves my husband more. I pray constantly for all pastors and their wives.
I didn’t even think about the house visits and mental health! Such good points! Yes, this is a trying time indeed. God will continue to equip and carry us all thru. Thanks for visiting and commenting! Hang in there. ???
