Challenges writing blog for pastors wives

Blog for pastors wives is needed, but difficult.

It’s been a while since I’ve last blogged. Well, we’re coming off an incredibly busy month. May was mind-boggling. It was our church’s 95th anniversary, so that meant lots of events, happenings, and activities.

Whew!

That’s not the only reason I’ve been a bit out of sight. I’ve been praying and struggling with this blog. It’s a tough one to figure out. As you may know, I have another blog (www.godsygirl.com). One of them gets about 4,000 visitors each month.  The other, not so many, but still it does well.

This blog also gets quite a few “finds” on the web.

But, content for it is not so easy to produce. The issue is not finding something to write about. Any pastor’s wife will tell you, our lives produce enough fodder for anyone’s blog. Coming up with content – no problem.

The problem lies in the fact that our content – any content that would be relevant to today’s first ladies and senior pastor’s wives – is very personal and can affect many other people. So, this makes having a blog for pastors wives a little rough.

Any blog I write must be honest, open, and authentic. However, being all those things without making others in my life uncomfortable is a challenge.  Also, I’m smart enough to know that everyone who reads this is not a senior pastor’s wife looking for inspiration.  Some people are just nosy and just want to know what’s going on in my head. Ask me how I know. Trust me, I know.

However, I still think there is a need for this blog and I will not give up on finding its niche. Just please be patient with me and pray that I can create content that is relevant, and encouraging that touches people right where they are in their lives. Anything else would be fluff.

What do you think?
